Nematodes
Natural Insect Control
Treatment of Fungus gnats, Indigenous thrips, and Root mealybugs
Nematodes are microscopic larvae that target the larval stages of fungus gnats, the pupae of indigenous thrips in the soil, and root mealybugs. They parasitize the bodies of their prey, killing them within a few days by feeding on their tissues. The predator reproduces within the body of its host, releasing new nematodes.
Nematodes are provided in the form of sponges to be diluted in watering water. Each format is divided into two sponges to allow for two consecutive waterings.

Instructions
- Lightly pre-water the soil with clear water to enhance nematode retention.
- Submerge the nematode sponge in a container of cold water and gently agitate to dissolve its contents.
- Ideally, check the viability of the nematodes by observing a portion of the mixture. A magnifying glass is essential for this purpose. The majority of nematodes should be bent or moving.
- Incorporate the mixture into the water and irrigate using a watering can, stirring occasionally to maintain a homogeneous mixture.
Precautions
- Store the product in the refrigerator, avoiding exposure to freezing and limiting temperature variations.
- For best results, use the entire sponge in a single treatment before the expiration date.
- Use the mixture immediately; nematodes diluted in water cannot be preserved.
- It is unnecessary to saturate the plant with water during treatment. Nematodes are primarily effective in the top inch and a half of the soil.
- Do not mix any other product, fertilizer, or pesticide with the nematode water.
Questions
Can I use nematodes at home ?
Yes, nematodes are perfectly suitable for home use.
Can nematodes proliferate in my plants ?
No, nematodes die as soon as the substrate is dry.
I don't see the nematodes I introduced, is this normal ?
Nematodes are microscopic and you will not be able to observe them with the naked eye.
Are there any risks associated with using nematodes ?
Nematodes pose no danger to humans or pets.
